Lower Chaco & Indigenous Communities
The first stop of our tour is in Remanso, where we visit the Maka indigenous community. Then we cross the Paraguay River and stop in Villa Hayes to learn about its history and evolution. We continue to the town of Cerrito to meet the Toba indigenous community.
We travel deeper into the Chaco, birdwatching on the steppes of the region. Located 156 km away from Asunción, we visit the Pa'i Puku School, a boarding school for all educational levels funded by a foundation of the same name and subsidized by the government for the children of local ranch workers. There are opportunities to make stops for wildlife observation along the way.
