Jesuit Ruins

We travel south to visit the Jesuit Reductions of San Cosme and Damián, founded in 1632 and once the main astronomical center of South America. We will also visit Santísima Trinidad del Paraná, the largest of all missions, and Jesús de Tavarangue, which was left unfinished. These ruins are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also visit the Diocesan Museum of San Ignacio Guazú, which displays 17th-century wooden sculptures carved by the Guarani.
